Huge gulf between Senate and House on how much to cut. Plan appears to be wait until the 11th hour then stare down whoever they need to to pass it. At some point, they have to put a number to Medicaid cut.
The problem is, everything in DC is seniority driven. So if we push the olds out of office and the GOP doesn't, we give up a lot of backroom power. Look at McConnell if you need an example.
I am not saying push out everyone over 60, but if we have to work with 1-2 person majorities and we are up against actuarial tables with lots of 70 and 80 year olds, that’s a problem. This is an example of that. Younger people need to run.
As others have pointed out: sometimes young people don't vote the way you expect. But yes, get more young people into office. The Dems need a much deeper bench.
This passed after they promised the freedom caucus they’d magic up $1.5 trillion in cuts later in the process, so I think at most you end up delaying it until they work that out in advance
