This outlines well how responsibility for killing the carbon tax was shared. It would be interesting to see an analysis of why the Liberals were so unsuccessful at pitching the carbon tax as an equitable policy for addressing climate change and why popular opposition was so entrenched.

Nice piece Ryan! Only thing I'd add is that the anti-tax campaign especially affected Conservative voters' perceptions. Most Cdns overestimated carbon tax costs and underestimated rebates but Conservative voters' estimates were further from reality. Imagine recognizing that the #climatecrisis is a big problem that requires action on multiple levels and sectors. That is what IPCC's AR6 report says - but heads in sand.

Stop buying plastics, made from fossil fuels. Install solar or a small wind turbine, work together with neighbours to make this successful. Insulate your property. Drive an EV or at least car share. Buy a bike, you can get great electric ones. Play your part. If we all do this oil and gas is out.
