i think i own a handful but i’ve never bought any, only been gifted them. streaming and digital ownership rose at about the same time and discs are so inconvenient to keep around since they are easily damaged i stopped getting them

Me neither actually! I feel like they were more expensive, or maybe it was just that buying an entire new kind of disc reader was expensive. So got away with not buying physical media for a while and then streaming happened so it's not necessary either

Oh man i switched recently and i cant go back. Like it doesnt always make a huge difference but a lot of movies go from dull colors to eye popping and blacks suddenly have volume. Im transitioning my collection to bluray/vhs only
