Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly backwards. Most pigeons cannot. However, Birmingham rollers can do somersaults.

I think just hummingbirds can fly backwards. There are breads of pigeons that are apparently quite acrobatic, but they actually don't fly backwards.

Hummingbirds are only ho-hum at flying backwards. Pigeons are the real deal!

Unfortunately, it only appears they're flying backward. The pigeon's extremely elastic neck allows the head to retract all the way out their ass. They do have the most advanced rear view.

No doubt getting hit by a pigeon flying backwards is where the phrase "Pigeon holed" originated.

They are sadly, atrocious at flying while drunk. What? How do I know? Look, shut up — I spend my weekends how I like.

Pigeons do this to escape the gas of stupidity emanating from Project 2025 proponents.
