PGMOL just doubled down, saying the MLS tackle was βvery lateβ and βvery highβ, and the only explanation I can think of for such a tactic is that they donβt think that the internet works any more.
Nothing happens next. They'll deflect by citing online abuse recieved and create division among supporters so Arsenal fans look like crackpots and the "same old Arsenal" chant gets rinsed. Meanwhile, poor officiating is everyone's problem. Other incidents this weekend getting lost in the noise.
Here comes the cover-up, indeed π―. PGMOL cannot be trusted to police itself, which is why I am raising a Parliamentary Petition to have Parliament discuss it's appropriateness. Takes about 10 days. Details to follow
PGMOL needs to be looked into and changed massively, If the FA refuses to do anything to fix the broken state of officiating in the Premier League on their own, they need to be pressured to do so. Week in week out, itβs been the same clown show for years now.
It's just a damn shame that an Arsenal supporting referee wasn't in charge of Newcastles league game just before the cup semi- final, l'm sure it will all even out over the course of the season though. π₯΄
Oliver and the rest of the referees, standards in the Premier League is appalling. The card yesterday is ridiculous and next weekend the same tackle or worse and get a yellow. They make it up as the go along. The PGMOL is a clown show epitimosed by Oliver and his ego and own self importance.
Got to say, I don't think it's the worst decision ever - whilst it's def soft, you can see the rationale for why he's given it (studs into top of ankle, albeit not v much!), hence why no VAR intervention.
Made a decision, lots don't agree, but just move on!
It was soft but it wasn't a travesty. No attempt to play the ball at all. Went for the player and caught him with studs. There have been far worse decisions so don't understand the hoohah except that it's Arsenal fans
It's been in the bin for a while. The diaz incident vs spurs should have been the tipping point but people like Arteta were happy it didn't affect them. It will never change with the PGMOL

PGMOL: Yellow is sufficient because the significant contact was on the foot, not shin.
Because red was given: No choice because contact above the ankle.
They can justify it either way β Oliver wants to give the harshest decision within his rights.
