what is with people who don’t live in cities on the Internet assuming that everyone ELSE on the Internet lives in a high-rise in Manhattan

It’s cute how delusional dorks like you assume that everyone else on the Internet has only lived in blue state metros and only knows other people who have.

"If you can't afford a big city, move somewhere more affordable."
"But I like living in the big city! I just want there to be more (and more affordable) housing."
"So you look down on regular Americans in the heartland! Typical, insular urban elitist!"
There are no jobs for what my wife and I do in the heartland.
I grew up there and I will not subject my mixed kid to growing up there.
My wife needs access to female reproductive health.
“If you can’t afford the city, move somewhere affordable!”
“But then I’ll lose my income source.”
“La la la can’t hear you.”
1) Lives in a major metro, probably within the mass transit network and/or cycling distance of a lot of things
2) Think it's crazy that anyone would want to live any other way on purpose
"The automobile is the most fascist invention of the 20th century"
"Detached homes are fundamentally wasteful and bad"
but also maybe i don't put a lot of faith in urban-planning insights that come from from a game where i build my houses out of granite for security reasons
I also have no interest in moving into a city. They are nice to visit, but definitely want my isolation back after a day or two.
Most people I talk to who live in my metro area are here because either that's where the jobs are in what we want to do or that's where our families are
And there are plenty of construction workers here who work a lot harder than Jimmy in his auto-steer air-conditioned tractor...
