Alcohol provokes far more violence than drugs.
What I don't know is - if you survive the violence - which is worse for your long term health.
Do you think the switch to service based roles will also have played a part with a focus on resolving disputes amicably?
The cynic in me though wonders if the proliferation of CCTV,DNA,Cell site tec etc has had more effect on behaviour

It's probably about 4:1 drinker : non-drinker in 20 yr olds nowadays
