These products are currently already in an open data format. The biggest issue here is the loss of expertise of the personal responsible for the production and development.
There are European equivalents to these dataset, in open data. See for instance the sea ice index of @osi-saf.eumetsat.int

These are active products that update monthly or daily and so it’s not just a question of archiving existing data, but on curating an ongoing data stream.
