Some of the suggestions are also corrupt companies, just as a heads up: Adobe, Coke, Dollar Tree, TEMU...? They might not be dropping DEI but they're awful in loads of other ways.
Also, it's kinda gross to have Brave on a list of companies supporting DEI when their founder & CEO donated money to ban gay marriage in California. The apology he did offer smells like a non-apology "Sorry you were offended."
I appreciate the effort, I'm glad people are trying to organize, but I do think more time should've been spent pruning things, or at least explaining information on their listing. Putting "Temu" under "ethical/small business", for example, is not at all accurate.
Agreed— it could be better but is a good start. Apps like Goods are too much to sift through, and calls to stop Amazon and Target without saying alternatives are unhelpful.
or better yet, go find the second hand store in your area. those stores usually support good causes and have decent functional stuff, possibly better quality than the trash target sells.
