Please be careful. I was born in Ohio & allegedly spent my first year or so there. I’ve been told that I saw my first movie in a theater there, Return of the Jedi, during a tornado.
More like, "Here's what you can expect to come through in about 24 hours." I saw a severe thunderstorm warning yesterday, and that storm brought down branches big enough to crunch cars in my neighborhood!
You actually live very near where I used to live. When I first moved there in 2012, about a week into living there, we had one of those WILD “summer” storms with huge winds, sideways rain, lightning, downed trees, etc. I was thrilled, scared, and amazed all at once. Mother Nature! Wow!
I'm in Wisconsin and we got the same sort of warning yesterday, presumably for the same storm system. It definitely got very windy and I could hear the hail hitting the roof and windows. But there was minimal damage the next day. Maybe it only sideswiped where I was or has gotten worse?
Probably a side swipe. I'm in Chicago, on the north side, and there are some big branches down in my neighborhood. One of roads was even completely blocked this morning.
The other day we got one of the “thunderstorm to quickly make the surface of the earth inhospitable to all human life. Please flee five miles below or above ground” warnings and then it just lightly sprinkled.
Meh. Not so bad up here. We got a good deal of rain, and I got soaked running into the dominos from my car and back... but hammered is a bit much. Already past us.
We had a super frog-choker in SNJ around lunch hour. Happened to be driving home from Costco at the time thru the worst of it. We're going from drought to drowning in less than two weeks.
I was just about to say, my head started INSTANTLY playing the music that accompanied the creatures that scared the shit out of me for my entire early childhood.
