It’s very straightforward actually. If it’s a lab leak, stopping the next pandemic is easy—just nerf those pesky scientists! Whereas if we really want to be ready—improve access to health care, improve general health etc etc that’s too much work.

No it did not make sense even then! Before 2020 it was estimated 10 000s a year were infected with bat covs in nature. Even if the lab was sloppy in every procedure they were not handling bat covs every single day. Simply not that many opportunities. Were more infections happen pandemic is likelier
