I think it makes the point that needs to be made more effectively than nearly anything else I've seen or heard since he first descended on that golden escalator a decade ago. They're already teasing the impending suspension of habeas corpus. Indefinite suspension of elections won't be long after
Should the cartoonist have waited until after Trump actually suspends habeas corpus instead of just having Stephen Miller tease it, or until after Trump declares martial law and starts rounding up the rest of us?
For me, it's the use of 9/11 and the Twin Towers. I know it was 25 years ago, but for me, it feels like yesterday. I hate what's going on with Trump, but it doesn't compare to the death of 1000s.
Feels like yesterday to me too. So do the passages of the AUMF & PATRIOT Act; the anthrax attacks; Colin Powell's UN WMD .ppt; Shock & Awe; "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"; the Baathist purge; Wolfowitz, Bremer, KBR, Libby, Abu Ghraib, Blackwater & ISIS; & $7,000,000,000,000+ spent to undo 85 yrs of goodwill
All good points. The U.S. doesn’t have a good track record, does it, and a good political cartoonist can challenge you to look at things in a different way. I'm still uncomfortable with the comparison, but that isn't a bad thing if we are discussing its deeper meaning.
I definitely understand your discomfort & maybe disgust and see where you're coming from. But I'd ask you to consider how many people died as immediate & indirect results of W's Iraq conquest? What about the global food & medicine $$$ Trump deleted? 1000s have died in Africa alone—already.
