The reason Apple manufactures in China is b/c of YEARS of investment in vocational training there. Any effort to bring these industries onshore STARTS WITH INVESTING IN OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM. And it will take YEARS.
It’s not about tiny hands (so stupid).
Here’s Apple CEO Tim Cook

Apple went to China because labor was CHEAP.
They invested in training to meet the quality standards and to improve communication.
Without the cost advantage, the jobs aren’t coming back.
Workplace training used to be normal in America.
Apple can train workers that’s not difficult.
The other factor is access to associated technologies like chip manufacturing. The U.S. should help bring that back.
Not a single job will be re-shored.
NB making it hard for foreign students to go to your universities is also defunding education.
now students have to go to a vocational school off campus & need a minimum gpa to attend.
I commented on the original post because bringing jobs back is really more about labor cost than it is about education.
You highlight something I haven’t thought much about.
The overlooked Non college job paths.
As for poor reading etc, the responsibility must fall on the parents.
We need to bring vocational trades & apprenticeships back into the high schools. We need to stop worrying about students passing a test & focus on them having basic reading, writing, & math skills to survive.
And to make sure their kids do the work.
Parenting is hard. But failing tests is not the schools fault.
In NY we used to dual path high school. Local diploma and regents diploma.
This started back in the 80s, 90s--Offshoring so that greedy men could pocket cash for their excess. Cheap labor, few worker protections, fewer laws for factory safety, etc.
Greed did this, & now they're AGAIN trying to protect THEIR OWN excess while the rest of us only SURVIVE
The purpose of bringing manufacturing back is to create supply chains where entire production is sourced from materials and parts that can be completed using transportation over land only.
U.S. corps. industrialized and privatized many countries, enabling more exploitation and abuse for the "profit" of a few.
We need #EducationReform starting with consent and power dynamics.
End of subject.
Many of the individual motherboard sub-components require toxic manufacturing processes that would be prohibited here under EPA and OSHA safety protocols.
My favorite amp guru can only source some individual board components out of South Korea.
The absurd present prescription for our ailment is Leeches.
iDon't buy iCrap.
I guess, I can never be sure w evil billionaires.
Altruistic billionaires don't gel.
Here's what I know for absolutely sure:
1. Don't trust rich people.
2. Don't EVER borrow $ from them.
3. They will never do anything that's not got something extra in it for them.
We allowed the outsourcing of jobs to other countries instead of investing in our workers and in our
Nation
And Here we are watching this explanation
I can only recommend anyone interested in this to read this book:

It’s why people make films in Los Angeles and Vancouver, or make cars in Michigan and Ontario — the entire infrastructure has evolved in those places to support those industries.
It could evolve somewhere in the US, but it’d take real work, not just screaming at Tim Cook.

It’s still going to be cheaper in China than the USA. You don’t need to be educated to assemble parts. Expect Apple products to increase in cost dramatically for their already overpriced products if they move production to the USA.
I bet pretty much all of fat felon’s products that he’s attempted to hawk over the years weren’t made in the USA.
#NoRaceToTheBottom
Over-estimation of one's abilities and understanding is another.
Terms like: plug & play, ramp-up, and punch over their weight category are immediate red flags.
If it made sense, 🍎 Apple would have invested in the USA.
He simply does not know how to compete in any arena he cannot bully into submission because he has no practical knowledge of industry.
You know, because they could make more money that way rather than seeking out American companies and building a US manufacturing base.
I’m getting old, but not that old.
I call BS
Their bigger problem is that there is no way to produce their devices in the US.
It would be more expensive than a 300% tariff, which probably is a rather low estimate.
They will have to pay the Trump Tax, and so will their customers.

Tim Apple caved to Trump, and he's getting what he paid for, and I'm glad for him.
It has not worked, a million is just a tip for FOTUS, who cashed in 2 billions since inauguration.
Still, resistance would have helped the country, and might even have helped the brand.
Tim Apple is responsible for that.
Fighting for principle becomes much harder when you run a company valued at trillions of dollars.
The administration has thousands of ways to extort Apple of billions.
Apple should just leave the country for Ireland, and create global design offices.
and then trump said no china , htey moved next door to cheapo vietnam
and so on
now in india
go on look at avg indian lifestyle
tell me its so great
Which is their plan for us. An obedient medieval kingdom of serfs and lords.
The US trials China in EVERYTHING.
Critical to the future.
Donald Trump is tearing down our education system because he wants more influence over his base instead of productivity and doing what’s best for the country.
Investing in education is simply common sense.
That’s what is absent…
American students only as much as needed to pass.

Then Apple just returns to what it's been doing while Trump gets to say, "I've changed what their doing! Winning!"
Women retire at 50, men at 55.
Food costs 70% cheaper than the United States.
The pay is the same as the United States.
Education is also considered a human right.
Raising a child is where they spend all of their $.
China = 1 Million + Industry Experts.
If Apple could exploit laborers in the USA the way they exploit laborers in China, THEY WOULD!
Apple retail workers can't even get wage increases that keep up with inflation without unionizing.

But I like for him to feel the dictatorship personally! He & his fellow oligarchs enabled the tiger that is now eating their faces! Dictator 🗣️ DOESNT GIVE 2 CENTS ABOUT THIS EXPLANATION! YOU DESERVE THIS PRESSURE! Funny thing, Cook knows this 🤣 No sympathy from me!
But Republicans quashed that effort … like every other that would help working people and the middle class.
We couldn't afford the shit we want if we made it ourselves.
At their profit margins.
Understanding production of goods desperately needs to be part of our national curriculum, starting in grade school.

I’ve been crying foul on lack of OJT/training/vocational education acceptance since 1990’s when most companies decimated OJT programs and started requiring 4 yr degrees.
Hhmmmm well, . Hope Jesus knows about technology and science.?🤷♀️
Tiny hands, gigantic bribes. #USDemocracy
Indoctrination into civil society, with applicable skills for earning a living and being a decent person.
Instead of the US model, to turn kids into dependent cult members who only read one poorly written book. "The Goatherders Guide to the Galaxy"
and especially novels). They will go to great lengths to avoid reading. Their parents will support their decision. It’s hard to teach literacy skills when the masses refuse to learn!
Their cities are amazing, crime free, and impeccably clean.
Food costs about 70% less than the United States.
Trump's idea of reversing this is due to his lack of a practical thigh by process. The citizens of the US understand he is not coping well as president.
President Trump is not well, and we have no idea how to fix it.
Wall Street investors have spotted one of president Donald Trump’s tendencies and have started betting against him. They’ve even come up with a derogatory term – “TACO,” and acronym for “Trump Always Chickens Out”
