So when I do my posts about oil and it’s costs it not just for the benefit of Canadians and Albertans. It’s for Americans too. So what happens is to buy cheap Canadian oil, refine it and sell it as if world price. So when you do the math we Canadians are getting screwed but so are you Americans.

I often think of little Johnny going to school. When he gets home his mother asked how was school. Well I pounded on my desk, screamed and yelled was the reply. Did you learn anything. Well no. So to me is an elected official. The only difference. Johnny gets a spanking. Our official gets paid

Personally I think it is incumbent on the older generations to inform the younger folks of facts and reality as much as we possibly can. The sad reality is we can not seem to get this from either our elected officials or the media. All we seem to get are the views of some very twisted minds.

Well it seems to me that the art of the politician is to convince people that all the issues that have existed for decades are all the fault of someone else even though they were in control and never fixed the problems. It seems to be the format used by every Con Party. And the voters buy it.

Personally I think every Albertan should do a little history lesson on Alberta health care where it went from a doctor managed and enforced entity to what we have now with corporations and hedge fund managers bleeding the system and no enforcement. It might enlighten the uneducated.

I had many responses to my post on housing and it’s affordability. The feedback was very encouraging as people are engaged a bit more than I anticipated on points of view and experience. What never came back was the fact that the 2 most expensive costs are the dirt and the infrastructure.

So when discussing empires the USA is an empire. It just says different. It has always been conquer, subdue and corrupt as long as it has been a nation. So the imploding of the USA is what happens with all empires. It’s always the rot within just as any other empire in history
