My dear departed golden doodle used to do much the same thing. Though a squirrel was on his bucket list, he never managed to get one. Though in his life I estimate he had dispatched over 40 rabbits that were stupid enough to invade our yard when it was patrolled by my otherwise sweet doggo.
This reminds me of my k9 soulmate (now at the πBridge), a Corgi mix who loved - and could spend hours - stalking the squirrels in our backyard while hubby and I sat and watched the "drama" unfold.
Had a German Shepherd when I was a teen, who chased squirrels with abandon. 1 day he caught 1, flipped it on its back, put a paw on it. Looked into its eyes, then looked at me like what do I do now. Let it go, and never chased squirrels again.
To be fair, in the opening seconds it took the movement in the background for me to realise it was video π€ͺ Blitz has great stealthβ¦but useless camouflage
