This is our beautiful, sweet #GoldenRetriever Tess, at 8 months old, circa 1987. She spread joy to everyone she met over the course of her 14 year life! Tess’ legacy lives on in the new children’s picture book, “ Mikey Plays With A Boy’s Best Friend.” You & your toddler will love it. https://a.co/d/0RoNKRb
I will forever maintain that a group of Goldens should be called a cuddle, like there was a cuddle of Goldens in Scotland. And Remy agrees with me.

Bretagne was a local dog to me! We have a rescue training school here and she belonged to Texas Task Force One. Dogs are very brave. I'm glad you got to highlight her work.
I was gonna add some pithy comment about my Murphy belonging on the list, but after watching this I'm convinced all golden retrievers are tied for the #1 spot.
It's impossible to create a list of the top 10 Golden Retrievers. All Goldens are #1! But Bretagne taking the final walk through a sea of salutes got me... 🥺😢
At number one –I know you make the rules, but I don't doubt you'll agree– I see Leonarda. She was a very rare mix of golden retriever and cocker spaniel who were around here for almost nine years. She was the bestest and goodest and prettiest and beatifulest of dogs. Couldn't beat cancer...
... and crossed the rainbow bridge on Feb 2024. Thanks @weratedogs.com for this videos, remember her is a very painful and yet very comforting thing. ❤️💔❤️🩹.
Aaawwww. They are all amazing incredible furbabies! Total respect. 🐾💙
My golden, Ginger, could clear a coffee table in seconds so there was no need to dust. She also did the stomp dance. Best hugger ever. Miss her.
RIP sweetest Ginger 🐾💙
I damn near cried, specially with the #1, my personal favorite are Labrador retrievers, its a family thing, all of them become family for so many of us.
Everyone who witnessed 9/11 has a moment when it broke them. For me, I broke down the day after, watching footage of firefighters hugging one of the search dogs after her shift at Ground Zero.
I saw you had Bretagne, but I’d offer one more “Riley” for your list. I believe this is SAR Dog Riley, going over the “pile,” in search of a possible survivor. I’ve read he was trained to find live casualties, but still assisted in locating several firefighters’ remains. Dog Bless.
The late, great Willow (therapy dog extraordinaire…but aren’t they all) and my current love, “Cooper.” Thanks, Matt, for highlighting a source of joy for many of us.
I accidentally got a neighbor's sheepdog into the habit of hugging every passerby. I don't think they'll ever forgive me for their protracted walkies time, but she does make a lot of people very happy. 🐶😄
