They are both terrible. The problem with this country isn’t the design of our government, it’s partisanship. Washington knew this. When we had two centrist parties with no litmus tests to belong, things worked pretty well. A two party system that is intolerant of minority views is a disaster.

And there could have been a real primary. Which Harris may have won. I liked Harris. Or maybe someone else would have risen. Maybe Trump wouldn’t be in office now. We’ll never know. History sometimes hinges on such decisions.

Yep, Biden should not have run again.
He and the people around him ushered in the second Trump disaster.
If Biden didn't run, Dems would have had a primary process and selected a candidate, and not rush at the last moment to replace Biden and scramble for a message.

He surrounded himself with competent people who could keep the ship going even if he had moments when he couldn’t function as president. He probably could have plunked along for a second term that way, but no one wants a weak president for precisely the emergency 2 am situation.
