Literally been boycotting since they pulled their Pride merch last year to pander to bigots. Has not been a problem. I only went there maybe twice a year before that.
Reducing my purchases yeah.
I'd normally have spent about $250/mo; but first they stopped carrying the products I need (nothing labeled "Triple" or "SuperMega" or "MegaXXL" will fit into any fixture in my house, bubba). Then they "removed" DEI (???).
So for January I spent $25.
Hope they're happy.
I mean I've been avoiding Target when I can for a while when their recently hired rent-a-cop security hassled me for buying a lotta stuff and using a rolling suitcase as a shopping bag but now I don't even enter it to get around more easily at the mall.
I stopped shopping their years ago because of the persistent understaffing and poor treatment of employees. Easier to just go to the union grocery than try to get help in a store that was half empty.
I went to find a source for your comment, and apparently they lost 15 billion after pulling the Pride merchandise in 2023. The losses were between May 2023 and Nov 2024.
We havenβt seen the consequences of the current boycott yet. https://theatlantavoice.com/target-class-action-lawsuit-diversity-inclusion/
This absolutely counts as active, rather than default, because you could still shop their sale/loss leader items, but you're being very careful in spending your pennies elsewhere, and not Target. I'm dirt-floor poor, too, and most things from here are a matter of perspective. VLRπ«π·
Havenβt spent a dime or set foot in there since the announcement. And now that theyβve shown their true colors, I never will again. Theyβre losing a lot of customers, permanently, and I hope they go the way of K-Mart in the next couple years.
Same. I have 4 nearby Targets and I donβt miss them. The closest is the one with the murals on the outside which was part of their we-support-the-community jive after the uprising.
Yup. I send them e-mails with my scanned receipts at all the places Iβm shopping at instead of them, letting them know that I wonβt shop there while they pander to bigots. Iβve been posting the receipts to Bluesky too. Itβs a PITA, because they were my main store, but Iβm pissed.
You are a genius! You are literally showing receipts of their bigotry and cowardice. Iβm all in and will start doing this too! Are you sending emails for anyone specifically? We could spread this for impact.
Everybody has to pick their battles based on their priorities and options ( and energy ). We live in a messed up world- sometimes all of the options will suck, and sometimes we just need to get the kidsβ milk before bed. But small, incremental steps still have value.
COSTCO (about an hour away) is looking mighty appealing. Not everyone in my area is able to do that. Heck with the price of gas Iβm not Iβll be able to, lol
Costco ships. That's how I've been doing all my shopping with my newly acquired membership. Items on the site labeled "Delivery" ship free (UPS), items labeled "2-Day Delivery" (which seem to mostly be perishables) ship free for orders > $75. There are also some really good "online only" deals.
We have ask ourselves what is our freedom worth- puts things in Perspective. We are stronger together. Batch trips or buy just the necessities. The rich donβt care about the rest of us. Fuck em where it counts- their pockets.
Yeah, Iβm going to join Costco soon too. I generally make more frequent smaller trips for groceries, so theyβve never felt necessary for me, but given how good theyβve been I think itβs worth changing my shopping habits a little to support them.
Yeah, but I'd already stopped shopping there years ago. They reduced their men's clothes section to the point where it and men's shoes combined is smaller than the pet food aisle. I can get everything else anywhere else.
CVS and target are separate companies. CVS is just provides pharmacy services inside target, their standalone stores are a-ok, as they have not rolled back their DEI initiatives.
We are, get it on #Ebay, local food store, Lowe's, or #Kohl's. It is not easy but if everyone does it, they will feel it. Same with #Airbnb, use #Vrbo, let these fβ’cks know we know where to take our money to be appreciated. Next up? Moving my money from our bank to someone I we trust.
Absolutely! Target and Amazon are no longer shopping options for me, my family and a lot of our friends. Costco and local stores now have my loyalty and cash.
Yes. Family was averaging about $200-300 a month there and we just got a Costco membership and have adjusted to shopping there for most things we would get at Target.
Yes. Iβm in Minneapolis & there are 6 Target stores within 5 miles of my house. I did all of my familyβs household/grocery shopping, most of my holiday shopping & most of my kidsβ clothes shopping at Target. I havenβt purchased anything there since Jan 24th. I spent ~$1k btwn Jan 1-24. Zero since.
Yeah. I used to get groceries weekly from target. My pharmacy is cvs. I have. $100/yr delivery membership so me and my asthma donβt have to be outside lugging groceries on days I canβt breathe or am working late. Thatβs over. Target stock nosedived. Shareholders never agreed to anti-DEI.
Last time I stepped in, I almost bought a new USB drive/external hard drive. I changed my mind and walked out. I got a order on OfficeMax or Staples online.
100%. Stopped shopping, canceled our card, and sent a letter. If they donβt support inclusive policies they canβt include our dollars in their bag.
Youβre the only person thatβs coming in with a very cynical opinion of our capabilities. It would serve the anti-MAGA well if you flipped it to being a supportive voice.
Me too. My friend's husband calls it "the hundred dollar store" and I had the credit card, 360 membership, you name it. It makes me sad, but I'm not giving them my money until they do what's right.
I'm never going to their fucking Nazi ass store ever again. I'm done with these companies that do this shit. I dropped Disney, Target, and after my Toyota goes to the car graveyard, I'm never buying from Toyota ever again. And I always bought Toyota. Fuck them all.
i'm don't celebrate christmas. besides, i don't want them in my house or anywhere else for that matter. they disgust me and are free advertising for the company. nope.
Time to do the post-winter (well, itβs still winter here, but stillβ¦) poop patrol for golden retriever bombs previously missed. Target bags have come in very handy for this purpose and I have now depleted my prodigious/not to be replenished supply.
Yes. Got the most expensive Costco membership almost 2 wks ago & have been making spite purchases ever since. So for I've bought an air purifier, a 5' long foam kitchen mat, 60 Rice Krispie treats, 36 bags of Dot's pretzels, 42 'prepper' meals, a trash can w/ a recycling side & a 2lb bag of pecans.
I love this! I got the most expensive membership too! They suggested I go tour the store before I committed and I said are you kidding? I'm in. I will never finish all the fruit snacks I bought but I'm going to hunt for the pecans next time.
Haha! No, pecans would never make it that far in my house. But now I have questions. π Who walks around with loose pecans in their pockets? Seriously, who? Because now I imagine they're feeding squirrels on the regular & we could probably be BFFs.
I am currently feeding an entire army of squirrels in my back yard + at least a few generations of chipmunks. But I've always wanted to make friends w/ some crows bc that would be cool.
Warehouse item or cafeteria? If warehouse/grocery, they ship & that's how I've been doing all my shopping so far (free shipping via UPS). There are also really good "online only" deals.
Unfortunately, theyβre packaged in the store like their pot pies and Mac and Cheese by the rotisserie. Iβm not going to give up though. One day theyβll be there and it will be a happy day.
Yeah I checked. But I did find out that they will Instacart all that stuff when in stock. And now I want protest potatoes too, but they're out of stock here too. π’
This is what happens when you bend the knee to the bigoted minority and their cheating cult leader. Companies should realize that THE ACTUAL MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SUPPORT DEI.
It's almost like there's more than just straight white men living here or something. Shocker. π€·ββοΈ
but really, all these people have zero interest in uniting and thus forming something that might have some meager chance of doing something; instead each uses social media mainly as a way to boost their own egos
I think the bulk items are worth it. Even if you go twice a year a $65/ year membership to keep you out of Target, Walmart, etc every few weeks or months is a good investment. Take a look online and see what they ship, I think itβs a lot!
This depends on a few factors- how big is your household? Would buying food and household items in bulk be beneficial to your household?
The membership is $65 a year, there are some travel, auto, and other perks with the premium membership which is $110/year that may be worth it too
Haven't been there in months. There are several independent discount houseware stores near me so I'm trying to shop there for that random household stuff you usually get at Walmart, Target or Amazon.
Thatβs major. My kids live there too. Target is a go to but they are boycotting them also. There are plenty of other stores to shop in. And not Walmart or Amazon.
Used to shop there several times a month, but since their abandoning the LGBTQ community last Pride Month we had not been back, and given this DEI news, yeah, they're not getting another penny from my family, ever.

They post fifteen billion because they shut down their DEI policies.
Apparently theyβre a popular social reform and not the shibboleth neocons think they are.
Thereβs a reason they dropped $15 billion in value.
Go fash, lose cash.

YES WE CAN!
Havenβt bought a thing. Discovering lots of locally owned places that fill the void.
Bankrupt Target. The left undertake real boycotts. MAGA threats are always empty.
DO NOT LET TARGET RECOVER. Crush companies that lack basic decency & donβt belong in our communities.
#Target
#fightback
Haven't set a foot in there (was shopping in there 1-2x weekly) and threw out all my red & gray bags πππ½π«π―πβΌοΈ
Literally put them all in a trash bag, and put them out with the trash in one shot...π‘ππ½ποΈποΈ
