Just like its military service isn’t a for profit government business. Although the defense industry makes a profit, and due to 47 even that won’t be as it was.
They were always available in my nabe. Going back to Times Square souvenir shops to get 10 cards for $1 of "Greetings from NYC" with Statue of Liberty prominent.
I get a notice every day for the last week when I log into my USPS scanner that we've made $6.7 billion in profit last year. Wrong message to be sending your employees everyday, I think.
This demonstrates a philosophy of government that wouldn't have been considered controversial until recently: that the purpose of government is to provide services that are necessary to the proper functioning of society but (for whatever reason) can't be monetized

Every single service they want to gut and privatize will be worse and more expensive for the "customer". Just like insurance.
Or 90% of people just won't be allowed/able to utilize it, like private schools.
