1) I just heard Richard Chamberlain passed, so I’ll share the time an actor absolutely handled me as a director, and that actor was Richard Chamberlain.

3) For those who’ve heard the commentaries this is the infamous “Salmon Clock” story. Anyway, he’s a complete gentleman, perfectly prepared, bringing his A game all day every day, just happy to be acting again - he’d been on a break.
4) The last day of shooting is crazy —I have a hundred extras and a fire truck and we’re shooting inside AND outside at this building, and every line producer reading this just shuddered …
6) “Dear boy, you can’t possibly want me in this scene. It’s all about your lead characters, I’m only a guest. And if I’m not here, it’ll give me a chance to get into wardrobe and be ready for when you move upstairs.”

7) And so I of course allowed him to do ME a favor of cutting him, at which point he went, had a lovely lunch, a nap, and was in costume and ready to go when we moved upstairs for the afternoon. And I enjoyed a morning of complete madness and coverage and chaos,
Thank you for sharing your experience with him. Did you happen to catch how funny he was when he played the mother of Craig Ferguson's character on The Drew Carey Show? He was a riot!
Coincidentally we just started rewatching Leverage a week ago, having not seen it since it aired, so when we saw that Mr. Chamberlain died (may he rest in peace) that episode came right to mind. But for me he will always be Aramis. Or possibly the Count of Monte Cristo.
Oh ouch. I had such a crush on him. Saw him in Cyrano at the Amundsen. Last scene: he pulls his hat off to show his mortal wound, and the bandage comes off with it and flies across the stage. His head looks just fine. One of the actors gets it and puts it back on Cyrano’s head. I’ll never forget.
I loved him in Leverage and indeed everything he's done on film and television. I have most of it on DVD, too, so he will always be there for me. A great loss.
