I assume you replaced the battery or wiggled the old one to ensure there is a good connection? (Rhetorical question, you needn't answer.). I've seen this problem more than once.
honestly i'm kind of impressed. how do you fuck up a basic ass quartz clock in modern times. i'm guessing it's the continuous sweep movement that did it
do you want to preform a necropsy on it or whatever it's called for dead electronics. then i wouldn't feel bad about throwing it away because at least its death contributed to scientific understanding
