Virtual boy emulator. 3-D makes it one of the best emus for it.
Custom themes are fun too.

Game wise persona Q get recommended because of atlases bad solution to a broken physical print run.
Resident Evil Mercs was shockingly good. The SEGA/M2 AGES line was exceptional. Dead or Alive Dimensions, Ridge Racer - early games on the platform but they really have a premium look. If you're including DS games, Knights in the Nightmare is an absolute must.
for the sega 3d classics, i'd recommend installing all three collections, as they each have a couple of extra games that weren't available individually.
All of those Sega 3D Classics by M2; all of the Guild games; New Leaf is still the definitive AC game; Mario 3D Land is a never-ported excellent platformer; all kinds of homebrew emulators; the last genuinely great Pokemon games.
Random stuff: There's a G-Rev game on there (Kokuga). Also a Karous (Beast of Re:Eden). Attack of the Friday Monsters rocks. Pictobits is DSiWare, wonderful puzzler. More obvious stuff: Kid Icarus: Uprising is amazing. All of the N64 remakes are definitive releases. Best version of TWEWY (DS)
It's worth looking into all of the Guild02 games, actually. Some work better than others, but they're all at the least interesting and made by a who's who of oh hey I love that dev they're a weirdo
Kid Icarus Uprising! It's my favorite game on there, one of my favorite games Nintendo ever published and still one of the most fun and unique third person shooters out there
The DSi-exclusive Four Swords Adventures port was a *free* giveaway for only a few months, and it works on all 3DS consoles. Just sayin'. (I have it on three 3DSes and one DSi, in order to accommodate easy party play on occasion.)
If you want to experience the True Power of 3D I recommend Kersploosh, also Denpa Men does some cool stuff with the AR features and I remember enjoying Harmoknight and Tokyo Crash Mobs a lot
Real mod or soft mod? I purchased Mario Kart 7 to soft mod mine but then just never did it. I don't even remember what I wanted to do or could do with a soft mod.
No hardware mods, but I installed custom firmware. It’s easy to do now without any need for a game exploit or whatever. There were more steps than expected, but it was easy.
Sega basically did with 3d classics what nintendo should've, but a lot less people noticed. Picross 3d is a super underrated puzzle game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_(video_game_series) The guild series was a bunch of really cool jp devs being given a blank check to do what they want and I really like the results.
3DS: All of the 3D Classics, Kokuga, Kirby Planet Robobot, A Link Between Worlds, EX Troopers, Ridge Racer 3D
DS: TWEWY, Ghost Trick (though the HD versions are fantastic too), Dragon Quest 4 and 5, Retro Game Challenge 1 and 2, Megaman ZX and ZXA, Space Invaders Extreme 1 and 2, Ouendan 2

twilightmenu++ is super powerful and great for booting NDS roms
somebody else mentioned it but the virtual boy emulator (red viper) is rad
the library is too massive to recommend games without knowing what you’re in the mood for
If you want a chill puzzle game, check out Tappingo 1 & 2! I sunk way too many hours into them and its easy to learn
Half Life
Super Mario 64 recompiled
Emulators (the 240p screen shows them 1:1)

It is fairly idiot proof, making it perfect for my dumb ass.
