e.g. i was looking at BC since i know they have a liberal provincial govt and the minimum wage there is significantly lower than in Dem-run Washington State

BC Liberals were a completely different party, unaffiliated with the LPC, and have not been in power for some time. BC NDP (centre left) have been in power for a while and the minimum wage is $17.85 CAD which is less adjusted to WA but every wage is less adjusted
