I think often about New York Times editor Joe Kahn’s comment a year ago: “It’s our job to cover the full range of issues that people have. At the moment, democracy is one of them. But it’s not the top.”

Impartial has to do with truth, not equal good/bad coverage.
How low on the list would "her emails" have been without the incessant coverage? The press actually has a huge influence here that they largely don't take responsibility for.
