I don't think framing it as "caving" was ever correct. Columbia did those things because agree with Trump when it comes to Israel and Palestine. And they would do it again even knowing this outcome. It was just a convenient cover for them to pretend that they were strong-armed into it.

Columbia showed weakness, so they're being strongarmed.
