... turns out thatvthey really wanted to be part of the fun-loving British Nation all along, and after three series of hilarious hi jinx and misbegotten spying misunderstandings, in a penultimate act of heroism they rescue a lost teenager from the Russian maw and ...
... are granted citizenship and the right to live in the North for ever. Five years later we see that one had become a librarian, another a doctor and the third the manager of Manchester United.
Looking at the photos it's obviously Man About The Dacha. They appear to have got Richard O'Sullivan and Paula Wilcox fairly accurately though their Sally Thomsett is miles off.
(scene where two of them are listening to a numbers station for their instructions, but the other one's watching dog racing and calling out numbers...)
I can't remember who it was, proposed a comedy drama about two lovable but naive Russian cathedral spire enthusiasts who visit Salisbury but get mistaken for poison assassins by British authorities.
