We - the boomer generation - have become a gurning, limping grievance looking for a cause.

How about instead of every country having their own nuclear weapon - which seems to be causing all sorts of trouble - we all take turns looking after a single bomb, like the school hamster?

Was wondering why Outrageous was going soft on and glamourising Diana and Oswald Mosley and it turns out one of their great-grandchildren is one of the producers.

There is an issue with on-street charging points. People who own houses with driveways (usially richer people) can charge their cars over night using much cheaper domestic electricity rates. Those who live in houses with solar panels can charge even more cheaply. 1/n

When a campaigner starts off with obvious hyperbole it's very difficult to take the rest of his or her 'opinion' piece seriously. On a related note, FFS, stop describing things as 'ancient' for emotional effect. There are actual definitions. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I've spent years trying to avoid cliches and unecessary adjectives in my writing but have just now had the revelation that a cliche knowing misapplied or used correctly within context can have the power of several hundred adjectives. That's it. That's the tweet.

Will another Reform councillor have to resign over this?

A legal challenge to Oxford’s Low Traffic Neighbourhoods has been withdrawn after advice concluded it would “likely fail”. Full report – in which we ask who’s funding opposition to the Oxford traffic measures: oxfordclarion.uk/legal-challe...

Over on the twitters, Matthew Goodtit is still saying that the oerwhelmjng majority of rooming suspects are Asian. Here are the actual percentages of suspects broken down by ethnicity: White, 83%; Asian 7%; Black 5%.

A leader of the MN House Democrats is murdered by a Republican pro-life activist. Rather than condemning political murder of his opponents, Elon Musk spreads the conspiracy theory that it was done by Democrats. Journalists don’t need to use any social media site. But they really shouldn’t use X.

I am not sure I have either the emotional capacity or the emotional stamina for another series of Adam Curtis documentaries. DO YOU NOT REALISE THAT YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM THAT YOU TRY TO DOCUMENT IN YOUR DISJOINTED NARRATIVES, ADAM?

What? No Thursday quiz this week? I am bereft. @theguardian.com

Face-eating leopard party voter cries "but I never thought that they would eat *my* face." Etc.

This is what Reform want to do in the UK.
