when I was 7, I was in the hospital with whooping cough. I wasn't supposed to use my eyes, so they took away my books. I wrote my own story on paper towels. then they took away my pencil and crayons and covered my eyes.
In elementary school I wrote a short story about a vampire kid who was newly undead and didn't understand what it meant to be a vampire yet. I remember it because my teacher displayed it at our open house. It was the first time anyone told me i was good at something. Been writing ever since.
I'm a high fantasy author! One of the first things I wrote was a story about a family vacationing at an isolated cabin, where they are picked off by a shotgun-wielding ghost. My teacher said it was inappropriate, so I wrote a new story about farm vegetables gaining sapience and rebelling. #SFFChat
@sffchat.bsky.social @authoriseult.bsky.social Just FYI, I'm about 1000 words into a draft of this... I'm apparently very, very easy to dare. Here's a snippet, only barely more absurd than the rest. Written from the perspective of an entity called King Broccoli. Surely, this is a good use of time.
I'm Xavier or Frodo, and 29 year old trans man writer. It's hard to remember my first story but when I was 6 or 7 I wrote book about a anthro cat pirate who searched for buried treasure.
I'm an urban fantasy/sci fi comic creator. One of the first comics I ever did was about a disgraced soldier trapped in a hellish facility powered by the dead.
