Now more than ever we need a government who stands up for the true values of a democracy otherwise it’s just posturing. I so wish Starmer was that leader for all our sakes. It’s devastating to realise he isn’t. We face exceptional challenges and need exceptional leaders. We don’t have those.

The sad irony is that if this happens and is successful, those who vote for Farage will again be those who are worst affected and are least able to cope with the impacts on their healthcare, living standards and futures. Trump voters will also be finding this out.

It’s a bit worrying but they’re desperate now, hence the petition and the interference. In 4 1/2 years the political landscape will be different and people will hopefully be feeling in a better position. Farage is also not generally liked in the UK.

It's one thing for an individual to give a donation but as co-lead in Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, surely it crosses a line were Musk to do this. It would be seen as US Government meddling in UK political affairs.

Both the recipient and gifted would be under investigation for foreign influence of a British government. He cannot gift money as foreigner to political parties. A UK company or individual could however.

Maximum individual donations capped at £10,000, full transparency as to the identity/source of the funds and actual teeth given to the Electoral Commission for compliance and prosecution.
