Forced to use other tool? By whom? VS is not going anywhere, no one is forcing anyone to switch to VSCode. VS is going to be developed for as long as .NET is around.
It just may not be priority number 1 for MSFT dev tooling... and that's somehow reason to go crazy? Spoiled teenagers behavior.
Reason to go crazy - ofc not, raise a concern and post for discussion - sure. I think killing VS support for Mac took many by surprise, so it’s nothing unheard of from Microsoft.
