I'm getting library cards from library systems other than my local library. They have reciprocal agreements with some other area libraries, so if you have a card with one, you can get cards with the others. I'm hoping they have some of the audiobooks that mine doesn't, or shorter hold times. - ThreadSky

I got sidetracked with other things after applying for King County and Seattle public library cards. It seems there are 12 library systems with reciprocal agreements that I could get cards from. I'm not sure if I want to get them all.

Everett public library's card application was quick and easy. And I already borrowed my first audiobook from there, Translation State, by Anne Leckie. It has a 2 week wait at my regular library.

Some of the applications are really easy. Some seem to suggest that you can only apply in person if you don't live in that library district.
I looked at big out of state library systems where you can pay a fee. But if I can get more free, I'll try that first.

In PA we have a sticker on library cards for the entire state. Sometimes we get mail deliveries from other areas of the state for patron requests. I hope that continues. Today, not sure. Temples crumble.

Thanks. I almost exclusively listen to audiobooks. I just found that it works far better for me than making time to physically read. But sometimes my library doesn't have certain titles, and some books just aren't available in audio format.

Our library has 4 shelves of CD audiobooks. Get a cd player. That is the most beautiful option.
