The point of an air fryer is to use less fat, not more. Plus the inside heating element is going to be a fire hazard, unless you take two hours to clean it up.
I've made nice KFC-alternative chicken thighs in one of those.
Yes adding the butter is defeating the purpose of the air fryer.
If you want to braise a steak in butter do it on the stove.
The worst part, this probably took longer than doing a normal sear.
Seriously just season your meat, medium high heat sear for like a minute or two each side depending on the steak and how congratulations you want it.
Exactly. That's the entire point! If people want to be able to roll like that, there's a different convection appliance designed for it: An actual oven with air circulation or a toaster oven with the feature.
Raised in a gourmet household; both parents were pretty accomplished chefs, and Mom managed a small “Sur La Table”-type specialty store. So I learned to LOVE cooking from a very young age. Food & wine remain passions of mine.
I never ever have nor will own a piece of “non-stick” cookware
I try not to ever buy "non-stick" cookware. My preference is stainless steel. I didn't mind glass cookware.
I love that you were raised to love cooking. I've not ever had the time to learn to do it well. (Now that I'm retired, I don't have the money.) I'm envious. Good for you! 💚🍷💚
Cast iron/enameled cast iron too, for the “right” task.
It’s taken me YEARS, but with patience & dedication I’ve acquired pretty much a full set of All Clad LTD stainless. And my best friends know, only marginally tongue-in-cheek, to bury me with it.
As per usual, Chef, your critique is spot on. Stadium toilet pretty much sums up looking at that mess. On the plus side, it’s good to see you on Bluesky!
I didn't even notice that it was being cooked outside until other comments mentioned it and what the reasons for that might be. When your brilliant steak cooking method is a potential fire hazard, not sure it's so great. I know these things are often rage bait but this genuinely pisses me.
I just hope that anyone who saw the original video realized it was gimmicky BS and didn't bother trying to replicate it. I would assume most people would realize that, but... well my confidence in other people's judgment has been shaken a bit lol.
The irony where they have an inside appliance outside on a deck where I am confident in saying there is probably a grill within 20 feet that can sufficiently cook this steak.
My arteries hardened just watching this. Why are you ruining a perfectly good Steak? Mate, you just chuck it on the Barbie with a few Prawns, splash of beer and BBQ sparingly!!
A pound of butter?!! The way she was sawing through the steak was unbelievable!! It was so tough. I guess some people have no taste. 🤮🤢🤮Such a waste of meat
I don’t own an air fryer.I also don’t destroy steaks like that for many reasons. They are 50 bucks each in Canada lately so steaks aren’t on the menu…and all you medium/medium well people should go eat chicken because the only way to eat a fabulous T bone is rare baby
I make steaks in mine all the time. One at a time. With just some EVOO on the outside with salt & pepper. Perfect medium rare every time. This is an abomination and kitchen crime. Bobby Flay should go kick her ass. 🤣
I mean, for sure you should be able to cook anything you like in those things. But once you exceed a pound of butter, the thing should automatically self-destruct.

I would not have shown the underside or the other steak either!
JFC. What a waste of money!
Also, nice plating! 👍🏼🙈
🤣🤣 it’s working🤣🤣

Also, using a knife & fork on a nonstick pan is… a choice.
That poor cow died only to be humiliated like this. This video almost turned me vegan. 🌱
Regardless, I hope she gets syphilis.
This was a waste of everything you could think of: food, money, appliances, energy, electricity... AND our time.

Learn to cook properly.
Not what a Air cooker was meant to be!
Why?
🤢
Two totally ruined steaks, boiled in butter…Blech!

Go @phillies.bsky.social
this is gross AF
and it sucks
it's also pretty quick
NINJA!😂

...and more bacon is not necessarily better. Balance is the key.
Read The Soul Gene! https://tinyurl.com/thesoulgene
🤣
but eating it out of the pissed filled airfryer container made me tap out
🤢🤢🤢🤮
But apparently you drown it in salt and burn the shit out of it
🤠
To be clear, there can never be too much bacon tho. 🤣🤣
And to be fair, butter is delicious. But geez Louise, it almost looked like she’s plotting to kill her partner for the insurance money!
Plus, this person could use the money she saves on electricity to help fund all of the massage therapy she’ll need from taking her statins. 😇
I use mine to reheat pizza 🤭😂🍕
