I will say that, IF the submission is returned with an appraisal of the work, why it was rejected and what the writer would need to do to make it acceptable, then it may potentially be worth paying for. But that is what paid beta readers do.

Further to a #BookSky discussion yesterday, I am horrified by the idea of paid submissions.
I've been asked how much I charge for submissions as if that was normal?
Like asking a shop how much it costs to look in the window.
