I had a professor who called 3.5" floppy disks "shell disks" because they aren't floppy like the 5.25" ones. Those were fun times when ZIP was a disk, and Amazon advertised on radio as the world's biggest bookstore.
Some of these are not-lame IMO - like only cool kids are gonna memorize *every* Doom cheat code, even the bullshit ones like IDSPISPOPD (remember kids: "Smashing Pumpkins Into Small Piles of Putrid Debris") or play Doom online

I try to cram in "information superhighway" into every conversation I can.
Reminds me of an old textfile, "modem geeks and personalities". Even among the nerdiest of nerds (BBS users!) there was gatekeeping.
