Larry Elmore probably helped with many a pre-teen awakening. Whenever I saw a module he did the cover for, I was that much more tempted to buy it (and in many cases, did…)

When I began painting I wanted to paint like Elmore.

At some point I rejected him (like all my other referents).

Now that I’m getting older I can enjoy him again without the inconvenience of my youth.

Such a joy, his art is beautiful, gorgeous, adventurous, magic, clean, EVOCATIVE!

I was completely entranced by the art in the introductory solo adventure in the Red Box. I found it genuinely tragic when Bargle killed Aleena the Cleric. I was probably eleven years old, but if it works, it works!
