To go along with the “theme”, here’s my copy of X-Men #1 (1963). I keep it in a fireproof and waterproof strongbox that I keep important papers, for safekeeping. It’s not high-grade, but it’s intact and I did enjoy carefully reading it, cover to cover.

My #TopShelfFriday is the first issue of the Legion Baxter series, featuring Keith Giffen & Larry Mahlstedt at the height of their powers, w/ the better printing and coloring their work deserved. It’s a shame Giffen lasted only 2 issues after the switch from newsprint, but they were 2 great issues.

I couldn’t find a copy of the first printing at a reasonable price, so I wound up with a later edition. I was able to get it signed by Chris Claremont and we both lamented how relevant the story remains, today.
