Aside from being (IMHO) the best intro of a new character, I have personal attachment.
A few months after I bought this issue, my younger cousin tore off the cover and ruined it. But 3 years later, I walked into my first back issue comic shop and found a copy!
I can't decide if I want to burn them or just beat the sh!@ out of him. What a f!@$! degenerate monster.

I bought this off the spinner and didn't know it was a variant for a few years
For myself, I shared the first issue of STARSLAYER by Mike Grell this week.
Later, at the shop, I would discover these were "dead" collectors items locally because we were one of the markets in which they were heavily distributed. We had PILES of 'em on hand and nobody cared.
