we’d planned to stay over but decided to get home instead. driving from pittsburgh to philly and back in one day isn’t too bad but not sth i’d do again any time soon lol

it wasn’t too bad on 76, except for the one person drifting out of her lane so frequently that i couldn’t safely get past for 30 min. and we were at the part w/all the tunnels in the highlands & i REALLY didn’t want to be in a tunnel w/her. finally passed her & she was fucking _texting_.
feeling that 10-hr round trip drive today, tho 😅
my brother, Eric, gifted me his manuscript about his teen years, & it’s in French; now i have a fun project to practice translation on! he also wrote a gorgeous check graphic novel about the curse of tutankhamen & had it illustrated by a colleague.
but today def has that “i wish we lived closer to the french half of the family” feeling. they’re so fantastic, & warm, & fun. been a decade & some change since i went to france, & i really need to plan another trip, so i can see the nieces & nephews, who are somehow now the ages i still think i am
yeah, it was a lot, but audiobooks are my secret weapon, lol. and virtually no traffic. this is another nice difference between PA vs. GA/FL: toll roads. way fewer cars on 76 than i-75 & 1-95, & the construction is done faster!
You know I’m jealous that you’re able to listen to audio books! I have a hard time focusing unless I’m actually reading. So that is a super power of yours!
it took _forever_ to get into them. the key for me is having a really gifted narrator. and i only listen to mystery series on them. everything else, i still read analog.
