That's the part that baffles me. I've researched interrogation and the first lesson I was taught was "Forget the idea of holding out under torture. If someone wants you to talk, and they're motivated, you WILL talk." Also, dude knew his prisoner escaped and he just hung out in a bathrobe?

They structured the game all wrong.
Can't kill the guy if he's the only path to the password.
Can't motivate him to give it up since he assumes you will kill him once you have access.
Better plan: take something away you can give back or kidnap his nonna.
