Just had my shopping delivered by Tesco by a very cheerful woman. She is a medical secretary in an NHS hospital who does 6 shifts delivering groceries a week. I wish she was paid enough, and housing was cheap enough, that she did not have to work evenings. Our country could be better. - ThreadSky

The manager of my kids' amazing preschool did evenings in Asda.
Her skillset was vast, from early years curriculum delivery to staff development and budgeting.
So many roles are undervalued

American here, hi. Oh, not one of the bad ones... Not that I'm all that great or anything. That's crazy to hear. My wife is the sole provider. It's a decent job. We have three kids, very modest rental unit. Our vehicles are paid off. We can barely make it. Disabled, to boot. Lol. Hi.

Landlords are sitting quietly behind this situation, taking an unfair slice of this ladies hard earned income. There is too much acceptance of this being the way it has to be. Think it is in our DNA, from peasant and Lords of the manor heritage. It is not all Downton Abbey in the real world.
