Conservatives have found that school and library boards are probably the least expensive races to invest in. These elected officials can then spread conservative influence through smaller communities, and that impacts elections at the next level of democracy.

I am hopeful that this will be a turning point for Texas. But living in west Texas, I can tell you that MAGA is still quite alive out here. Even on just simple things, they are so over the top it’s frightening. My closest big town is Abilene and it’s certainly red.

We just had a bond election for our public school system to build and update current schools in our district. All of the “Vote NO” signs were red. It’s no accident. These assholes are delving deep into magat-ville. But, the “Yes” vote won! The bond passed. Our students are worth the fight!
