Ukraine was its own SSR during the Soviet days. They even had their own separate UN delegation. Russia might claim Ukraine as its own, but its own history belies that idea. And there's other little details like the Holodomor...

Wonder if Ukraine has some more drones up its sleeve. Some very specifically targeted ones. We're all going to die anyway, aren't we?

As the story goes, the Great Flood cleansed the world of all bad people and only spared the righteous Noah and his family. So how did evil make a comeback after that? Either (a) Noah wasn't really all that clean, (b) the flood didn't cover all that much ground, or (c) the whole thing is fiction.

As long as (a) a man as transparently evil as Mike Johnson claims to be a "true Christian", and (b) there is no pushback from any influential Christian figure, then it's logical to believe that (c) Christianity is an evil, depraved belief system.

Ukraine vs Russia is freedom vs totalitarianism. Where one stands on this war reflects one's values.

He's such a great ambassador for his faith.

I sometimes think the Democrats might have a secret plan to demolish trumpism just like Ukraine did with their drone attack on Russia. Then my gummy wears off.

The Democratic Party has surrendered.

"What particular components of our voter base should we throw under the bus to attract those 23 maga voters who might possibly change their minds?"

I'll give them money to oppose them when they do, in fact, start to oppose them.

The general feeling in the townhall i was at last night is that the dems don't have our backs. Chuck Schumer has no less power than Mitch McConnell did in 2009. He refuses to use it.

Dem elected officials are getting arrested, their offices are being invaded by ICE thugs, their voter base is being harassed, and the dems still acting like we're having a high school debate where everyone goes out for pizza afterwards. It will be fascinating to study in a few centuries.

If Christianity was as beautiful and true as it claims to be, it would never have to resort to violence.

If the dems keep trying to bury AOC and Crockett, their claims that they're trying to re-connect with the working class ring empty, hollow and fake.

I was at a local townhall last night. The recurring theme, echoed by many, was "what is the point of the Democratic Party?"

This is what Neil Finn, along with his brother Tim, were doing before Crowded House. A goofy new-wave gem with swirling keyboards anchored by an insistent bass.

LGBs who won't stand up for Ts are cowards who betray everybody who's stood up for LGBs in the past (and present). When they're done with Ts, you're next.

"Life is suffering" is a philosophy that perfectly serves the ruling class. No wonder it's such an essential component of fundamentalism.

I see a lot of random bluesky members, ordinary people like most of us here, frequently come up with great, pithy, effective one-liners and catchphrases. Then I see the stiff, uninspired, leaden "talking points" that come out of highly-paid Dem "communicators". The dems' struggles are voluntary.

Hispanics who voted for trump for God knows what reason: exactly what did you misunderstand about "MASS deportations"?

If Ukraine can fight off Russia, we can fight off trump.

I notice that certain elements in the US sound a little, er, disappointed about the punch Ukraine landed on Russia yesterday. Gee, I wonder why that would be.
