And then—of COURSE —the people that love it would never help kids with struggles. For a normal person, point of getting out of poverty ‘social and economic support for all kids, let all the young discover their potential.’ Instead it was ‘poor Appalachians are hopeless and culturally inferior.’
They should have! It was revoltingly classist and hateful towards the poor (and also had weird racial stuff in it). What I also found absurd was everyone I knew growing up was in those economic/social circumstances and aren’t whiny like him! Only a sheltered rich person could be fooled by it.
