Personally I prefer protection of my personal data over being a verb, but better is entirely subjective and if you value corporate branded verbs, then Google is definitely for you.
We're having to cast off old habits and get out of our comfort zones which is uncomfortable. It's about getting used to being uncomfortable which is ultimately a healthier path.
I have learned that it's not uncomfortable, we've been led to believe that algorithms make things better when all they do is foster addiction and impulsive behaviour. Since I walked away I've never wanted to return
Don't buy a Google phone. Unfortunately unless you buy an apple (just as bad), probably stuck with Andriod. Just shut down any tracking that you can. Don't buy at the play store.
Time for Europe to consider US tech compromised. Invest more in European technology. There are European mobile alternatives. Even brands cutting out Google and Apple. There are computer options not built on Microsoft. There are processor architectures not based on Intel or AMD x86.
