& I had been writing a card, I always sign from the rats too & I develop their writing as they get older. & I kept getting noggin wrong. I wrote dwayne, & zoomer, & I felt so bad. But noggin hasn't been himself lately, we were thinking about taking him to the vet.

the next morning he was confused, he came over but his eye had been weeping. We wondered if he'd had a stroke, but rats can live good lives after so I was optimistic. & at 12.15 Chris messaged to say that Noggin almost certainly had brain swelling of some kind. The vet said he wasn't in pain

& could come home for that night. he was so confused but had some cuddles & we kept him warm. And took him the next morning so he could stop being. Stop being how he wouldn't want to be.

Seeing them go is always the hardest part. Broke my heart a couple of times. 19 times.

But on a positive note, now there's enough little parts of my heart for every rat that lived with us to keep forever.

Tysm, he was a ridiculously kind rat. his brothers are flipping devastated, and that helped me not focus on me cos I need to comfort them. Crikey but rats are beautiful & amazing, aren't they?
