We're all doing our best in a situation I've got no responsibility for, and no control over. I'm really proud of the book, and keen to get it out as fast as possible, by hook or by crook.

I sympathise. Publishing is in strife generally. A large magazine publisher here in the UK (owned by a German company) has recently laid off most of the creative staff in favour of placing that work in Poland.

Yep, it's been an absolute nightmare for me and 600+ unpaid Unbound authors for well over 6 months, and there's still no sign of it ending.

I reckon you have a big enough platform to self-publish. There will be initial expenses (proofing, the cover - interior formatting is dead easy) and a steep learning curve, but you'll get a bigger percentage of royalties and loads of satisfaction.

I just got an email from Boundless explaining that Unbound had gone into liquidation (I didn't know); that the distribution will be now be handled by Bylines; and that the signed hardback I ordered is "...now a paperback, will be sent to me very soon". Is that right? A paperback?

Very disappointing for you. I hope there’s quick resolution for you. I thoroughly enjoyed A Decade in Tory and Four Chancellors and a Funeral. I’ve listened to both at least twice. Both detailed, informative and funny.
