As of 15 years ago, you got one visit from a harried health visitor so overworked that they showed up on a Sunday, at which they weighed your baby and told you off if baby had just done a poo and so was underweight. I assume there were other checks but they didn't explain anything

Anything else you had to go to the clinic to ask, but that was not an easy environment for questions

Ironically, I found the vaccination appointments were actually a really good time to ask about any worries, because the nurse asks you to stay on for a few min after the jab
