Sen. Bill Hagerty tells 'Meet The Press' he is supportive of President-elect Trump's plans to impose tariffs on a number of nations, including Canada and Mexico, pointing to the long history of the U.S. using trade as a "strategic tool" for decades.

Higher prices, reduced purchasing power, lack of market diversity, economic disruptions such as inflation, supply chain issues, product shortages, long-term Impact in that domestic/global recession become our future, got to love it!
I am a simple man, I get it. These "trumpecon experts" just don't
Canada supplies most of the Potash used by US farmers, along with Uranium and other commodities.
We buy from the US roughly what Walmart sells in the US.
Because we have trade agreements in place with the EU (CETA) and Asia (CPTPP)
It is not in the US’s long term interest for Canada to diversify.
Tariffs are economically destructive, especially the kinds of blanket tariffs Trump is talking about. Economists, including Republican economists, know this. Our pain is just a small price to pay for stoking Dear Leader's ego.
Next time Trump threatens France with a Nuke because he does not like cheese, Hagerty would say yeah why not it was used before against Japan as a « strategic tool ».
Hagerty calling access to the U.S. economy a "privilege" is just a warm-up for Trump’s next tariff disaster — policies that’ll punish American workers and consumers while pretending to be a tough trade strategy.
So..we are going to have a bunch of tariffs that will hike costs to boost buying from American factories that often don't exist. We are also going to deport a population that make up a large portion of agriculture and construction workers at the same time. And the outcome of this will be success?
So he's saying access to cheap goods in the US is a privilege...
Sounds like something a millionaire would say... whaddya know, he is one...net worth $31 million...
It’s truly amazing how comfortable the rich are with the poor paying more and having to lower their stand of living. It’s equally amazing how willing the poor are to go along with that by voting for Trump. The meek may inherit the earth but the rich will own everything else above ground.
