And there's never been agreement on what constitutes "biological sex." Chromosomes? Hormone levels? Genitals? Internal organs?

So the UK Supreme Court decided the M or F on the birth certificate registered by parents soon after a baby's birth is "biological."

Anyone who uses the term "common sense" is fudging, because they can't explain why their view is "right" other than, "because I say so."

Rarely is what they claim to be "common sense" either common (among people) nor does it make any sense logically or humanely.

Even chromosomes can lead to some funky discovery. Unless you had to do some genetic testing, no one has any idea of their chromosomes, so you could be in for a surprise

Yeah- but I forgot to explain my bias- I don't know a British woman over 55 who hasn't had their free NHS hysterectomy and lifetime supply of HRT. And organs in or out is nice, simple, binary concept to grasp. So it'd be a large sample group with full understanding that they'd been reclassified!

To be fair, I'm well over that age and still have all my organs. But I didn't need to see a doctor for anything related to menopause. I do know from cis women friends, it's common to be fobbed off if you do ask for help, and HRT and hysterectomy are usually on the short list of "solutions" given.

IMO This is literally because what they want to do is divide the world into "has a penis" and "doesn't have a penis" but even they know how insanely reductionst that sounds so they are trying to find a way to define women instead and can't bc their definition of woman is "not man"

And none of that rhetoric since has done anything positive for women's rights or safety. Instead it's emboldened Nazis, and enabled violence against cis women who don't conform to a hyperconservative ideal of femininity.
