Another case of AI being more of a nefarious management excuse for evil people than useful personal technology: Get used to "Oh that drone strike? The AI told me to. But me? I had nothing to do with that."

Trump already displayed the bulk of its value during the campaign when it was “I’ve heard they used AI to manufacture something scandalous” & “If my crowds look smaller than her’s it’s AI”
Israel already used AI to generate targets earlier in this war with Gaza. Amazing that all these experts came out saying AI could be an existential threat and the first thing we do with it is start killing who it tells us to kill.
Some already bypassed the "AI told me to" step and are allowing AI to execute people autonomously.
I don't think the decision makers of the world, collectively, are sufficiently intelligent, informed, or inherently ethical enough to use AI responsibly.
Asimov wrote a bunch of short stories about an AI, and while most of them were fairly optimistic, some had darker hints. In one, several humans decide to rig the output and make the machine responsible. In another, the AI is so bummed by people dumping their problems on it that it becomes suicidal.
The best part is we have an increasingly conspiracy-minded populace that will see shadows behind any failure of such a system to behave ideally.
Some idiot will ask a LLM from whatever vendor supplied AI for the drones if they received a human order to do so and treat the eventual response as truth
the machines will not take over the world, they will be handed it on a silver platter so some asshole techbros can make a quick penny while everyone else foots the bill.
if you ever paid for an AI service this is what you support
Musk just manipulated Grok to provide false results of non existent white genocide in South Africa. AI is like social media in the hands of dangerously dishonest owners, it’s just more of the same processed shit.

They can't even come up with original excuses.
